Meet Clay

One of the owners of Clay and Co Hair Design.

Clay has been in the industry for 28 years, after starting his apprenticeship when he was 17 years old at Mr James International in Brisbane.

Since then he has won over 90 industry awards, represented Australia on a national stage, been part of Melbourne fashion week, and has become a master of his craft.

Clay always had a dream of owning his own salon, and this became a reality in 2020, alongside his partner Alicia.

He always wanted to create an intimate space, where he could create his own brand, with his clients, which are the people he loves.

His love of what he does with his tools, working with the products he loves, and the brands he loves, allows him to create an amazing experience for his clients.

I made my entrance into my hairdressing career 16 years ago as a school based apprentice at 14! But to be honest it started long before that. I remember taking out barbies perfectly plaited hair to cut it all off or to do tips with my highlighters. I’ve come a long way since those days.

I would describe myself as a hairdresser that gets excited about hair, and being creative with hair, and how much happiness it brings to my clients when they walk out the door. There is no better feeling than that.

I love to cut, to style but more importantly to colour. I specialise in colour corrections and balayage.

Thanks to Clay and Alicia at Clay and Co Hair Design, I can let my artistic flare go wild. Hope to see you in the salon soon

Meet Claire. With over 18 yrs in the industry, Claire has a passion for all things hair. and a wealth of knowledge behind her.

Her favorites include cuts, colour, fun edgy

styles, long hair and working with curly hair. Claire is also amazing at hair extensions and Cezanne treatments.

She is a solid all rounder.

We love that she has a quick witty sense of humour, loves a good laugh and most definitely has a cheeky side which will keep you on your toes. A perfect fit to our team.

Meet Alicia, the other business owner of Clay and Co Hair Design.

When Alicia isn’t working at her normal job outside of Clay and Co, she is running everything behind the scenes. This allows us to focus on being creative, and taking care of our clients.

Alicia is passionate about client experience, business planning and growth, and most importantly the staff. She believes in investing in people, and making sure that everyone feels valued in the business.

Everyone that works with Alicia will say that she is motivating, caring, and a go getter.

Alicia has spent 14 years so far with a large financial institution, which she is extremely passionate about, but she is a little entrepreneur outside of her professional career.

This is why she was excited about starting a small business with her partner Clay. She saw an opportunity, and made it happen.

She is also a stand up comedian, and a marriage celebrant, we can’t keep her still.

Her dreams and goals for the business, will see Clay and Co Hair Design be a successful long term business, where staff and clients will continually enjoy coming in the door.
